Hi Guest,

November marked a significant step up for India’s DeepTech story, with policy, capital, and technology making positive strides yet again. The Union Government’s new ₹1 lakh crore Research Development and Innovation (RDI) fund is starting to take shape as a major filip for long-cycle financing for R&D heavy ventures, especially in areas like semiconductors, quantum, AI, space, and climate technology. This push is a major boost to both the DeepTech investor ecosystem and startups. This is a clear sign that India is serious about building sovereign IP and scaling deep science from lab to market.

The momentum is mirrored in our own updates this month at Java Capital. We’re excited to welcome Lightspeed Photonics to the Java portfolio, a company building next-generation optical interconnects to power high-performance computing and AI infrastructure. You can also dive deeper into our rationale for investing in the company in our “Why we invested” section.

AgniKul Cosmos also announced a fresh ₹150 crore funding round, further enabling and strengthening its efforts towards reusable satellite launch vehicles. The ePlane Company was featured in The Times of India for targeting its first flight in the next two months and eyeing ambulance certification by 2027. Legistify celebrated its 10th anniversary, marking a decade of transforming enterprise legal operations with technology.

Regards,

Team Java

LightSpeed Photonics develops innovative optical interconnect technology to enable faster data transfer speeds inside computers and data centres. (Optical interconnects are systems that connect devices such as computers and data centres to each other using light. They are capable of transmitting large amounts of data at very high speeds). The optical interconnects from LightSpeed act as high-speed data superhighways, enabling computing systems to keep up with the exponential growth in data demands.
